FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. General Technology and Working Principle
What exactly is the Dexcook invisible cooktop system?
Dexcook is an innovative induction cooking technology hidden beneath your kitchen countertop, with no visible cooking elements or buttons on the surface. When you are not cooking, your countertop serves as a completely flat workspace; during cooking, it transforms into a high-tech cooktop.
How does the system work?
The system operates with high-intensity electromagnetic induction technology. Magnetic waves pass through the porcelain surface and reach directly to the base of your cookware. Heat is generated not on the cooktop surface, but directly inside the pot. This minimizes energy loss and prevents the countertop surface from overheating.
2. Installation and Surface Compatibility
Which countertop materials are compatible?
The Dexcook system is designed to work with special porcelain ceramic or sintered stone surfaces that are resistant to high temperatures and thermal shock. Natural stones such as granite or marble are not recommended (unless special milling is applied) due to potential metal content and cracking risks.
Can it be installed on my existing kitchen countertop?
Installation is possible if your existing countertop is made of a suitable 12mm thick porcelain or ceramic material. However, for optimal performance and safety, we recommend using Dexcook-approved "nano-ceramic composite panels."
How much space is required under the countertop?
To ensure proper operation and ventilation, a certain amount of air circulation space is required beneath the countertop. In most cases, a drawer can be used in the module where the device is installed; however, the drawer depth must be adjusted according to the device dimensions.
3. Usage and Cookware
Can I use any type of pot or pan?
No. Due to induction technology requirements, you must use cookware with a ferromagnetic (magnet-attracting) base. Cast iron, steel, or specially designed induction-compatible products are suitable. Aluminum, copper, or glass cookware (unless they have a special magnetic base layer) will not work.
How can I tell if my cookware is compatible?
You can perform a simple magnet test. If a magnet firmly sticks to the bottom of your pot, it is compatible with Dexcook.
How will I find the cooking zone?
As an invisible system, Dexcook uses a smart laser marking or audio/visual alert system to help you locate the cooking zones. When the unit is turned on, the cooking areas become visible, and when you place a pot on the surface, the system automatically detects it.
Should I use a silicone mat/protector on the surface?
To prevent the pot from scratching the surface due to hard movements and to minimize heat transfer from the pot to the countertop, it is recommended to use the thin silicone cooking mats supplied or recommended with the system. These mats do not affect cooking performance.
4. Safety and Cleaning
Does the countertop surface get hot enough to burn?
The system does not directly heat the surface; however, some heat is reflected back to the countertop from the heated cookware. This heat is significantly lower than that of traditional glass-ceramic or gas cooktops and dissipates much faster. Nevertheless, the surface should not be touched with bare hands immediately after prolonged cooking; wait until the "H" (Hot) warning indicator turns off.
Is there a child lock?
Yes, Dexcook systems include an automatic key lock and child safety mode to prevent children or pets from accidentally activating the system.
How is it cleaned?
Since the surface is completely flat and made of smooth porcelain, cleaning is extremely easy. Food residues do not burn onto or stick to the surface. You can clean it within seconds using a damp cloth and standard surface cleaners.
What happens if I place my phone or keys on the countertop?
Dexcook features smart object detection. If you place a phone, keys, or a non-metal object on the surface, the system will not recognize it as cookware and will not start heating.
5. Technical Details and Warranty
Does it provide energy savings?
Yes, induction technology operates with over 90% efficiency. Since heat is generated directly inside the cookware, it is up to 40% faster and consumes less energy compared to gas and standard electric cooktops.
How is the cooktop controlled?
The system is controlled via integrated touch "Slide Control" panels or hidden touch sensors embedded into the countertop. You can precisely adjust the heat level by sliding your finger.
What is the warranty period?
Dexcook products come with a standard 2-year warranty against manufacturing defects (may vary by region). Installation must be performed by authorized service providers for the warranty to remain valid.
